Ive found that especially when its colder in the club when the heating has not fully warmed up, one advantage though is it leaves less obvious chalk marks on the table as its a lot closer to the colour of the cloth.

Just to add, for the people finding spruce triangle marks the cue ball easier should make sure they don't chalk their cue every shot like the light green stuff, spruce stays on the tip better and lasts longer in my experience(pressed), it's only when there's too much chalk on the tip do i find any marks on the cue ball.

I bought some spruce chalk. I heard it was the best. Although it feels slightly different when it goes on, it does not improve your screw shots or anything else in the least.

Chalk isn't a magic cube lol, it doesn't make your screw any better or worst it's your cue action, well unless it's a cheapie chalk then you'll be miscuing all over the table...

I assume people are trying this spruce chalk for increased grip on the cue ball. I did not find any difference.

I've been using spruce chalk for the best part of 10/11 years. I have tried the newer triangle chalk, but compared to the original spruce chalk it doesn't come close
