Craftsman cue glide any1 ???

Just wondering weather any1 has used craftsman cue glide and if it really works and how good it works

had a mate who used it, it works, makes the cue really smooth. later gets sticky tho.

i damp cloth and buff the cue down with a dry one does the job better in my opinion. no need for cue glide

Cheers for advice I was thinking of taking it for a MoT but not sure who to send it to ive heard mike wooldridge and Trevor are good but don't know where to find Trevor

just a wipe down with a warm damp cloth does tricks, i sweared by the cue glide but found that redoing it every 3 week at least, get a good oil on it and just keep it clean... that what i done with my TW and as good as new still

I use the craftsman product and it works very well, my cue is the smoothest of any I've tried.

I tried it years ago and didn't like it. It seems to be a kind of abnormal type of finish, a bit like smooth plastic and didn't feel like it was my cue. Also I'm not sure of the contents but I think its some kind of silicon and I would worry about using this constantly on wood as its likely to dry it out and cause problems over time.

I'll leave that to the cue makers but IMO silicon does dry things out as it absorbs moisture. that is why you get those silicon bags in electrical equipment to stop moisture getting inside the electrics. You need some level of moisture in the wood to keep it from going brittle, hence why I wouldn't recommend using it.

Would like to hear the cue makers views on this . A guy i know who is not a cuemaker but does repairs adds splices etc and is a master craftsman with wood has recommended silicon spray .

I believe so long as it's pure silicon it'll be fine. Anything synthetic or with added chemicals would likely end up eating away the glue of the splices.
