I never had one split or layers seperate doing this and I've done hundreds or them. I wouldnt recommend the pencil sharpeners as it only takes for the blade to be slightly out and you'll take a chunk out of your cue and they cut inwards so makes the tip thinner at the top than at the base.
    yep the tooling on the 11mm is better for sure.

      Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry and Ronnie O'Sullivan never had this problem, because they all use Elkmaster tips. Still, what do they know?

        you are wrong!!! still one out of three not too bad! steve has a kamui and ronnie changes tip brands all the time.

          To be fair ronnie is on elks just now anyways, I just gave him some at the international qualifiers a week ago.

              just changed my talisman to an elk does anybody know how to get rid of the fraying on the top? iv'e sanded down with very fine paper and all it keeps doing is fraying

                        day 2 and I have rejected that talisman. Stuck on a pro granite again and 'wa ha ha' the shots are all coming back again. dont know why I ever try any other when I know the pg's deliver awesome.. I kniw it depends on the cue aswell but im gona stick with my current combo for now..

                          i have a friend's talisman delaminating on him twice already. What are the chief reasons for doing so? It is the 10mm version.

                              i think the tooling is not as good when they make them on the smaller sizes - for all tip sizes i cut down from 11mm
