snooker score boards

I have a simple board with 2 game counters at the top and the 1-19 / 20-100 sliders below. Simple and works for me. I see these 2 scoring boards on Ebay (us) for several thousand dollars. I know there's an alleged antique value there but looking at them they look incredibly more complex than my simple sliding pointer board. What the heck are all the colors and slides for, how do they work?

This one for example with the white yellow green slides and white dots and stars.. what's going on? I feel like I'm missing something.
