  • Burnishing

Has anyone used an iron to burnish the sides of a new tip?
Is this a good method to use, or is there a better way?
Does it affect the playabillity of a tip?

Friction is the best way rather than using a direct heat source. Rub it with a £20 note or even the side of a block of chalk. ADR was selling some teflon tools which do an excellent job, don't know if he still has any?
No one is listening until you make a mistake!

      Burnishing

i believe adr has the teflon blocks on his ebay store, i was looking at getting one myself as i rarely have £20 notes available at the moment! lol and i have gone off using the chalk, i think it gets ink from the paper onto the tip and im not keen on that idea

many things will work as long as they generate the friction but £20 notes and leather belts are good - the tip tool is just a lot easier!
