Kamui Chalk

I bought a cube of Kamui Chalk a year ago but really never tried it. Yesterday I thought I would pull it out and try seeing how I was having some problems with my Deep Screw shot. Now before I explain the chalk I must say I emailed Terry and he straightened me out and got me back on track but in the mean time I pulled out my Kamui Chalk. $30 CDN for one lump but this stuff is amazing. In two hours I had no kicks chalked about every 10 shots unless I was going to hit a deep screw then I would just pass the chalk by the top of the tip. I have a MW Super Tip on my GBL Cue. Anyone using this chalk and I wonder if any pros are using it.

I have some, but it leaves a lot of marks on the cue ball, difficult to explaint to your opponent why the cue ball looks spotty

I used to use it, found it very good for laminated tips but it was very messy. I've since been using the spruce chalk I got from Dean and haven't gone back since. Personally I wouldn't bother for a pressed tip

I found the same problem with marks on cue ball but now after a few days of using it the marks have gone away. Seems to get embedded into the tip and you only chalk about every 10 shots and I find you have great control of the cue ball.

The new kamui chalks (Maple & Forest Green) do not leave any marks on the cue ball. I have bought both the chalks and i can say that they are far better than any other chalk i have used.
Plus no need to scrub the chalk on the tips, just need to lightly put the chalk on the tip and u are ready to go for 10-15 shots.

So what if that lipstick chalk can last you 20 or 200 shots? It can't improve your cue action.
Chalking the cue is very important part of preshot routine. It is ingrained habit with many players. I'd need to change preshot routine if I were to start using that Kamui. No thanks.
If this helps your game, good. But World Championships are still won with standard Master or Triangle. That won't change any time soon.

Nobody here is bad-mouthing anyone's personal preferences. We are merely providing our inputs.
Also your example of players winning World Championships with Master & Triangle is as absurd as me or you or anyone else using Ronnie's cue and becoming a player like him.

Please remember that we were just discussion about the qualities of the Kamui chalk and NOT anyone's game/preshot routine or cue action.

I was merely pointing out that standard chalks are better precisely because they require you to chalk more often. And they are cheaper.

Kamui chalk works, but the price is just plain daft.

The whole chalking routine is a bit OCD anyway, not sure if it helps or hinders. If I'm in the flow, I don't want to chalk, I want to play a shot every 15 seconds. Ronnie was like this in his record maxi, not chalking much at all.

Thanks for your recommendation Hassan. Anyone got any ideas about a good UK supplier?

* Aceman, Masters makes a mess, light green Triangle barely stays on. So Spruce triangle is my compromise, you can get away with a lot less chalking, maybe just a quarter compared to light green triangle. But I wouldn't say that even Spruce is ideal. I don't like the clickers, pouches, so I put mine in a pocket and it's a pain to keep getting it out. I'm not sure why we should be chalking cues at all.
