Lovely to see that everyone seems to have an opinion on these without even trying them, if you don't want to try them I don't see the point of commenting on here, moaning about the price and the product (that you've not tried) and just saying that you'll be sticking to whatever tip you're currently using - all seems a little pointless to me. Give them a go, I know that I will be in the future.

Well said Cueman. I hate getting conned. Just saying that Ronnie uses these tips will induce a lot of people to buy them. What we really need to know is what is different about them to warrant them being so much more expensive.

+1 If they have the capabilities to make these as consistent then i would like to know why most of the "normal elks" are sub-standard....sounds like a clever marketing ploy to pull customers in.

what is a tip press? obv by the name its for compressing a tip, but I've never heard of them before!!

They are a metal tube you put tips in to compress the tip that you chose, you can get them on ebay from china for about 10 pounds, every elk i have used with the tip press has been solid and consistent and lasted the distance and mostly go untouched as you don't get any flat spots.

I bought one off ebay for a tenner , good quality and presses the tip as hard as you want it .

That's the one, leave it in for as long as you like, once pressed they are pressed i left mine in overnight compreesed about a 3rd of the tip and its done me well.

Yes thats the one muck , i leave them overnight , the more you tighten the harder the tip .

don't mind paying £3 postage but please break it down, first class stamp and envelope 60p max so must be £2.40 a return bus ticket to the post box
yes know about time spent etc, but not exactly good customer relations, usual ploy of making ebay fees back on postage, if you want to do that charge a penny and £4.99 postage lol

Because they get cheaper the more you buy. Standard practice in the business world. You'll notice the same when you buy chalk. Buy a box of 144 blocks and it's a lot cheaper than buying one at a time.
Don't think I'll bother with these new elks. I'm happy with my woollies.

tried the woollies about 4 months ago because fed up of changing tips because as others stated quality of elks dropped considerably, really happy with quality of the Wooldridge great feel and responsiveness, my game as come back using the woollies and really happy with them, think if tweetens have sorted out a manufacturing glich they should not be pulling a flanker and using the fact Ronnie is using them as a marketing ploy, because was Ronnie using the elks before they were put right, also don't know if anyone is thinking quality of the triangle chalk is worse, I use the light green but after a couple of frames find it is not holding aswell and seems flaking, what does anyone think

ok not sure where you all getting these prices!!

1 tip £3 uk postage £1.80 (2nd class recorded delivery)
5 tips £13 uk postage £1.80 (2nd class recorded delivery)
1 box 50 tips £95 uk postage £7 (special delivery) postage done this way so that items are insured

i can send the 1 or 5 tips for 80p but as these are not tracked or insured then it would be at your loss if they do not turn up

same for international buyers postage for international signed for is generally £10. again i can send without them being signed for or insured but again at your loss if they go missing in transit

Yeah they do dome the tips, then just do a gentle reshape.
