I am after somebody to supply me with Genuine Aramith Spotted white as cannot find mine and I am representing wales later this month so want abit of practise before hand thanks gaz.

They are not always the same weight , in fact Pro Cups are sometimes lighter than plain cue balls. I have mentioned this before in previous posts , but if you wish to read the article go to www.stevedaking.com . He weighed several cue balls , plain and spotted and found a large variation in weight between the plain balls and that the spotted whites were certainly more consistent , weight wise. As to why they are used , it started around 2006 and was because the game had certain sponsors that wanted to show the cue ball action on tv. Obviously you can not see spin , top , screw , side etc with a plain ball , except by watching the cue balls path before or after contact with the object ball, but you can with a spotted white in " slo mo " or high speed film work.
