They are simple, i have had great success with softer elks and press them by half and i have got to say they are probably some of the most consistent tips i have ever used.

So is the idea behind the tip press is to press your tips more after buying them ?

Yep, turns a medium into a hard tip.
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
              I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

Thanks. So wen you think your tip isn't hard enough by pressing your nail in it you compress it more to get it firmer

Its not just for when your tip isn't hard enough, it compresses the tip so that you don't get flat spots and creates a more consisten feeling tip, if you like hard tips the take and elk and press it as much as you can then take it out and try that, if however you like it softer the lessen the amount you compress the tip. I compress soft elks to about half the size they are normally.

I did try doing that but couldn't end up doing it even enough or messing the tip up lol

I squished one in a vice once, was a very nice tip, played like a good MW tip.
