My wife dropped into a local little store called 'Old Soul Resale' which is primarily for furniture and art but she came across a nearly-new set of Vitalite snooker balls. Even though I'm not much of a collector I went back and bought the set as I couldn't refuse the price which was really low when compared any other type of ball.
I learned to play with Vitalites when I was a teenager and I knew they were lighter than both the Super Crystalates and the Aramith so I got out my digital scale and sure enough they are at or near 127gm per ball compared to the 141gm for the Aramith balls.
These have been slightly used but are still quite shiny and they polished up well. Even the cueball looks good with very few blemishes.
When I give up playing competitively I think I'll use these as I can screw a ball about 24ft or so on my table!
