Thanks! My girlfriend likes it too so it lives in our lounge-room.

The only problem now is deciding which cues should be in it.

The listing said "This is a beautiful piece of furniture that was found by Alcocks in their attic a few years back."

I looks like the sort of thing the Riley's were producing in the 1930's, although I can't say that I recognise it as one of theirs, so it could be later. Certainly appears to be in immaculate condition.

I need me one of those but paying for shipping to Canada would kill me. Maybe I'll get lucky though as I'm going to see a table where the husband had it for years before he passed away, so maybe there will be something there (fingers crossed)

I had to drive to Melbourne (8 hours each way) to pick it up. I went to watch the Sydney Swans in the Grand Final (AFL) but they got killed unfortunately. Still, the trip was worth it. I only paid $400 and the seller said she paid $1600 when she bought it from Alcocks about 20 years ago. It does have a few small marks on it, but it is in very good condition. It is very solid. No room for a table in my Sydney unit (think broom cupboard).

I wonder what used to be on the back (see pic)? Maybe a mirror or stained glass?

Yes, those cues are mine. The rest of them live under my bed. Plus I have a few down at the club. Just don't tell my girlfriend.

Alcocks are Australias greatest table makers IMO and anything made by them is mega $$$$$ but outstanding quality.
If it is called " Common sense " why is it so rare???
