I will have to try the ADR 147 again though because it shaped great and felt great from the first shot. I will need to get new glue , what a waste of an afternoon.
Any advice on a recommended glue?

Andrew, has anyone in Vancouver, Canada bought your tips already that I could buy from? Would save on the shipping that way.

My soft ADR tip is has now seen several hours of play and I'm really happy with it – excellent feel and cueball control. It's trimmed to 10mm on a snooker cue I use for American pool and is holding shape and chalk well. Last night I ended up unexpectedly playing on American, English and snooker tables (long night!) and used the cue throughout – very versatile. Now considering an ADR replacement for my Elk'd cue I normally use for snooker (although I have some soft Talismans coming to test out too)...

Playing pool this week for the first time in 25 years and have decided I might be best to retip the old cue, would my old tip (unknown brand) have "aged" in it's case? I do want a new cue sometime but first things first.
Would I be best to get a medium or hard? I have a 9.5mm tip.
Also, any discernable difference between black and standard other than the aesthetics?
Will get either Loctite Power Easy or Gorilla Gel although the Loctite 480 looks a good belt and braces glue.

Took my time with the retipping to do a perfect job and I'm very happy with it. I've been out the game for so long any tip would probably have done but I wanted to start back with a tip I'd be most likely to stick with.
It took a few frames to get my eye in but I certainly managed some decent shots and my failings were in my rusty performance not the superb tip.
Fantasic speedy service from ADR147 too, can't fault him or his products.
