Does anbody on here have any of the old MW laminate tips available for sale, been playing with 1 and the feel is superb.

well according to MW himself, it is discontinued.... but talisman M is a good match. the feel is similar

blackspin tips are better which is why i discontinued laminated.

although there have been some us and downs during development and trials, blackspin tips are now officially the dogs b*ll*cks and suitable for anyone who (foolishly) prefers laminated tips

But I've a MW black spin tip with those red line on it !!! Is that the one u looking for ??

have been making some huge changes to production techniques to improve the original over the last couple of years.

supertips are good for everyone. blackspin tips are a hybrid between supertips and laminated and are for those who want a harder tip that keeps it's shape longer, i.e. typical laminated features.

but...blackspin tips were developed to go on blackspin ferrule cos the low deflection qualities of blackspin ferrule work well with this particular tip. sort of softens the hit bringing the cueball reaction in line with supertip.

what i mean is:

1) supertip on a brass ferrule = good feel and reaction for everyone
2) blackspin tip on a blackspin ferrule = good feel and reaction for everyone
3) blackspin tip on a brass ferrule = similar to a laminated in that it's harder and keeps shape longer but better cueball reaction like a supertip

same as on brass ferrule - good for everyone.

but you should to fit a fibre pad to spread the load and prevent damage to the ferrule top.

Mike is this fibre pad a new idea? I don't recall having one when I ordered my blackspin shark off you which had a supertip fitted. Or maybe it did? It was about two years ago now.

i introduced it shortly after first ones went out. maybe you did, maybe you didn't. regardless, it's better to use one now.

Ok, thanks. I will order one when my supertip needs changing as I'm reluctant to take it off nos as its playing nicely.
