I might try one in the future, although I think I've found the two best tips for me - MW Supertip & ADR soft tips.
Regards the ADR tip I'm finding that the chalk doesn't hold as well as the MW tip - What chalk do you use Ramon ?
Thanks for the reply mate.

Had 3 full sessions with the ADR and to be honest it's not really lost shape - which is cool.
All above said it's a good cue tip, much better than a Talisman Soft, in my opinion.

Anyone of your guy ever experience the Kamui Chalk?
Elks have become very hit and miss.
Regards the chalk I would say its rather expensive for a block of chalk. I'd never buy one to be honest, I'd like to try it though, to see why its so expensive !!

Most importantly, it makes your tips last much, much longer! Many people think that it's playing with a tip that wears it down but it's not, it's the act of chalking that does that. Chalk is like sandpaper and every time you use it you're slowly sanding your tip down. The Kamui chalk is designed specifically to avoid that and it really works. I use it on my pool cue and haven't changed tips (for pool I use a Kamui black in medium) in close to three years now, and really I'm not sure I will need to change it for the foreseeable future. It's still about as high as it was the day I put it on. And I play a lot of pool.
For snooker I have been using elkmasters lately, but same principle here. With Kamui chalk they last way longer than with traditional, with the only caveat that the pressed elkmaster tips get compressed more from playing than the laminated tips do, so they may need changed for this reason. If you prefer laminated for snooker as well , or if you like a hard elkmaster, then grab some Kamui chalk and you'll probably keep your tip on there as long as you own the cue. That's no joke.
The only downside is that the Kamui does mark the cue ball a little more than traditional chalk, but for me this is a minor issue. For one it's easy enough to wipe the ball down once in a while and for two regular green chalk marks it too, it's just harder to see.Acting experience: When I play snooker and I make a shot, I act like I meant to do it.

For the guys using the ADR147 tip.
Do you take the height down or doesn't it make any difference?
When I use a Talisman soft I find that if I take the tip down by around 50% I don't get the wooden clunky noise and I get a far better and more consistent reaction with cueing.
May give the ADR tip a go next time but would like to know what work people do on it prior to use.

When I put mine on I sliced one layer off the top as they are quite high, they are a tough tip though, glued together well so it was a bit tricky but got there in the end.
Just seems to high to leave it as it is, not sure what other people on here do / have done.

Could they be layered so much as they were originally designed for Pool ? ... just a guess.

I find with this tip that it doesn't take any wearing in and the additional layers let me decide how many layers I require at the end of shaping. I know this method is not unusual as guys at the club seem to do something similar (not that I do it because of that).
As I take a layer off you can watch the layer circle getting smaller until through to the next so you can be pretty accurate as regards the shape if you struggle to see it by eye.
It's probably one of the most consistent tips I've used (in my opinion) so don't have any concerns there.

I might order a couple and stick them on one of my other cues and give it a go, sounds like a good tip and nice to compare sometimes.
