These velvet spin tips are truly fantastic. Ive never experienced reaction you can get on the cueball like i do with these tips. Believe me Ive tried them all over the last few years trying to find the perfect tip for my game. I highly recomend that you try these. MW does it again!!!

      Hi guys
I have a legend with a BS tip currently but like the idea of a softer tip so gonna give the velvets a go in the New Year. Q though , does Mike supply the wafers when you buy his other tips to apply to the ferrule before you affix the tip? I know he recommends a wafer if your putting a non BS tip on.

      Cheers

      David

          Only 10mm & 9mm is coming !!!
Then... no chance for me to have a try !!

I have been trying to fix a 10mm tip onto my 10mm ferrule many times... end up tips destroyed.
My wallet feel painful ~~~~ No more trying.

I play with a ten mill tip Kadobau and fit Mikes super tips no problem, I have one on now( last of the old ones), I think they are made a bit bigger than 10 mm
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

Since this is a soft tip, does it mushroom easily ? or does it retain its shape reasonably well?

i used this tip for the first time last night and i have to say i was really disappointed it was a lot softer than i expected and after a couple of hours play
thought it was going to be ok until i mis-cued and it split on the top surface and went very spongey and became unplayable! not happy as they were not cheap!

Had a few shots of a friend's cue who had one fitted, like you said I found it too soft also - and I like soft tips ... but this was too soft.
Was hoping they would have the feel of the original and first Super Tips, now those were top notch in my opinion.

could'nt agree more the original super tips were the best for me anyways i played the best snooker in 20 years the new ones are not as good i sent one back that went spongey like the velvet spin! if anyone out there has got some i will quite happily trade 3 velvet spin 3 new super tips and i will even chuck in a black spin!

Have you tried pressing these tips?, I got a couple of spongy MW tips but after I pressed them they were spot on.

I know, first time I tried the original super tips I went all gooey and said to myself "this is the one for me"

Thats some deal you have going there too - good luck finding some mate.

Then why not just buy elks if you have to press them? The point of buying super tips is so they play well immediately without chance of getting spongy ones. hence the higher price.

If you think the velvet spins were too soft, you can send them back to mike to get them replaced free of charge. He mentioned that he was looking for feedback on the tips and ways to improve them.

First of all, i have never tried the velvet tips.

But i have tried pressing other brand tips, for example, the elks.

What i found is that it plays good for a while (maybe 2 weeks) and after which, it goes even harder and pretty much dead to me.

So now, i don't bother clamping or pressing any tips, i just throw away those that i think are too spongy from the get go.
