Snooker Laser Scope

Has anyone tried one of these? Would it help? I am not so sure.

How does it work? If the laser goes above the cue ball then how does it tell the player where they are going to hit the object ball given a lot of shots you aim outside the object ball?

I was thinking it could be good to tape a laser to a cue and practice your cueing and try to keep the laser on a target spot on the wall while cueing through a matchbox or similar.

Any other ideas?

I think the main benefit is to show the cue action/delivery and keeping the cue straight through the whole cueing process, and then maybe onto aiming

I have made something similar to this. It was 3D printed for me by a mate from work. It is quite small too and slides down the cue about 3 inches from the tip. The laser pen slides into a top section. The power button gets depressed as it fits into the body.
I had it made to see how fluid and straight I'm actually cueing, without all the adjustment that can occur. Its quite an eye opener to be honest. You would not believe how important it is to have the correct grip assembly (for want of a better phrase). As certain fingers, dependant on the grip pressure can conflict quite a bit. Which isn't easy to spot normally. I will post a picture of it when I can.

I bet it will frighten us all to death how the tip of the cue moves off line when cueing.

I've always been told that my first two feathers are off line and when I bring the cue through on the 3rd to strike the cueball it is then straight, I'm sure that would mess with my head!!
