I am assuming now that the statement I saw saying that SCs are "heavier", that is compared to the Aramith Premier ball which I believe are around 129g.

The Aramith SC's are made from phenolic resin, same as the TC's and 1g's, they were a step up from the TC's as they were more closely matched but not as close as the 1g's.
You can still get them new, I have a set and they're OK, but not as good as a genuine set of SC's.
There is/was a set of genuine SC's on ebay a week or two ago for £60, seller said they were from the match room of the snooker club he ran in the 90's and unmarked, spare cue ball included which is what I wanted from him but not for sale separately damn it!

I even asked Aramith once what weight should TCs (whether 3g or 1g) be and they did not say the max-min they produce, only that TCs 3 or 1g are the same only matched by weight range per set.
Yes I know 1gs are the same as TCs, just all matched, but are they matched at 138 a set or 144 a set, or right across that range. As that's quite a difference between sets. I was asking if aramith match all the 1gs at say 141g so all sets of 1gs are 141g for example.

            Another ball question

I think you can get 1g at anything across the weight scale of 139-144 as long as the set are 1g range

Cheers Dean, quite interesting that, I honestly thought the sets the pros used would all be matched to one weight. I'm surprised they don't moan about that, they like a moan lol.

Who knows, maybe the pro sets given to WS for the events have been even closer matched across sets? probably never know

Quite possibly, just not seen anything to corroborate this.
I have sent a message to my Aramith contact. Let's hope he does respond with actual details this time - he has evaded the specifics quite well in the past

1g sets vary. Some average within the stated range around 140g, 141g, some 142g and the latest sets I weighed were all 143g variants. This is not just the odd sets, I weighed dozens. I guess it depends on manufacturing batches.

My 1g set are around 142g. Heaviest is a red at 142.94. Lightest is the green at 142.25. Variance 0.69. Weighed a few standard TC's in the club and they were around 140/141.

These are super crystalate balls but they are the ones made by Aramith in Belgium, so are these really TCs? Or premiers or what? If they are TCs just branded under another name, someone could get a real bargain.
These just arrived and at first look they are in a different box, made in England. I haven't really got anything accurate to weigh them.

                                photo pleases

If different from what was advertised that could be an issue.

IIRC when BCE sold the rights to Super Crystalate to Aramith, BCE still made the balls under licence for sometime before Aramith stopped production in the UK.
