you can get both but normally people mean the laminated 3 layer ones.

lol - i have tried them myself in the hunt for the holy grail of tips, the self potter! i found the hercules h2 is similar and better quality and a fraction of the price of the market leader which is the moori! - if you want to try one i think i have some of the le professional and the hercules.
