I thought elkmaster would be higher than blue diamond, and none for moori?
Probably because of how expensive they are, i thought talisman would have been top.....

personally I felt the o'min red tips are fairly poor in terms of grip (even after scruffing, sandpaper, blah blah) ! I had tried various american 9 ball layered tips from Taiwan and they fare much better.
i would say the talismans grip better and are a bit softer but then i have only seen a couple of the o'min tips.

i thought elks would be top and maybe talisman second - maybe a poll in the uk only would have very different results?

possibly in some places thats all that you can get? - i remember trying to buy a tip in france and that was the choice.

its not like theres hundred or thousands of votes to guage it.....

perhaps if you surveyed many snooker halls (in the uk) youd get the result you expected ADR

the point i was making ADR was that because you dont know many using them, and dont sell many, doesnt mean there should be a lot less people using them, unless youve omitted other info, like folk in the same line of business too reporting that trend

All the local sports shops etc around my area sell blue diamond, so i would say the more 'average' player who wants a tip but isnt bothered what it plays like and just wants a cheap tip, they would probably opt for the blue diamond, probably why they are so popular....

                  very good point craig

most of these sell Elks and beedeez as standard, whereas folk who are paying more attention to better than average shop sale cues, also know about a wider range of tips etc.....

agreed, but we need to ask more than a few dozen on one website, or trust how many (including ratio) one guy sells to his customers

well i sell maybe 30 elks to one blue (boxes) hard to factor the talismans in because most are sold single or in threes. but i guess i sell 100 or so per week.

                          ADR

the point i was making was that because YOu dont know many folk using them, and because YOU dont sell as many of them in ratio to others, DOESNT mean that the results of a poll with only a few dozen votes should be surprising to you, as the people who voted wont all buy from YOU

theres loads of other places to by tips in the world, and this site is quite international, so i wouldnt suggest the results are surprising at all

yes but i was not thinking purely on myself i was expecting a different result based on having had similar sales reports from other people but yes agreed the international nature of this site makes for different results.

i mentioned this in my post earlier this morning, but even with that factored in, it still wouldnt surprise me

craigs post earlier is a good one, in that the average player would get tips from a sports shop in the uk, id have imagined, and not until theyre more into cuesports would they know and seek different to whats available there
