  • Cue tip pad

This might sound silly. May I know where to find a cue pad that can be used to cut and trim tips on? Something like Barry Stark used in his cue re-tipping video. Thanks.

That was just an old drinks coaster, usually with a cork or pressed hardboard backing

        I use a cutting mat...
An A3 will cost between £2-4 or you could go smaller to A4

Also have a look in pound shops as I've got cutting mats in the as well.
I cut an old one up and keep it in my kit.

Rarely will you ever need to do a tip away from home. Just grab a block of wood with flat surface to trim and size the tip on. Its better than a coaster although that works well too

I thought was about something different.... I have noticed a persoex looking pad between tip and ferrule at the WC. Obviously I have forgotten who was using it, but I assume it is an anti deflection\throw thing.

Do we know anything about it\them?

                        That looks like the bunny.

                        Is it a throw\deflection stopper\limiter?

How much and does it need doevislist fitting?

I don't think so. I think I read that the idea was that glue soaking into regular tips different amounts, meant that 2 tips of the same brand would feel slightly different, due to hard spots. This avoids that. Haven't tried them to be honest, but there's some logic ib their.

                            Not sure about that.

Just seems to be a tip with a plastic\polycarbonate base to it to make it look a bit different.

Comments on the video are a bit funny

                              Slightly over the top....
