I put one on for John Higgins recently before the China open, he came back just before the world to get a normal black kamui m/h on his cue, said they clear went too hard and started making a clicky noise he didn't like on certain shots. I don't think it's a great idea the plastic pad, there is nothing for the glue to properly grip to, I know when he was going to China with the clear Ryan day asked him to bring a tip over for him as his clear had just pinged off his cue while practising

If he carries on like this I think he'll stick with the Kamui

He been using normal black kamui for about the last 10 years, had a spell at start of the season where he was trying century but couldn't find any he liked, put kamui back on before the Scottish and he hit a max first game with it, kamui sent him prototype 11mm clears, he tried m/h said far too hard, came back about 2 hours later and got a medium on, at first he said it was unreal but as I said after china decided it was too hard as well and didn't feel good with it, kamui defo the best tips for john

You clearly know your stuff with tips, Frazz...quick question given I thought this thread was about fibre pads...which I need for MW black ferrules...which pads should be used and what thickness for snooker? Many available on eBay but I have no idea about what thickness to go for. MW charges far too much for them!

I've never used a tip pad but I believe a website called pro9 sell them, I would imagine you'd want no more than 1mm.

All the different pads are the same material as far as I can tell. The thinner ones are aimed at snooker cues, they're about 0.3-0.4mm. The thicker ones are more for US pool or Carom cues.
