i have found out though that its the only chalk that i can get to stick to the omin water buffalo tip i've got on my break cue at the moment... the light green makes a nasty squeeking sound when i use it on that!

Like everything man made, man tries to make better...hence the light green and quite 'powdery' triangle chalk.
I read somewhere that the manufacturers of that chalk went away from the darker green, which was more gritty,,,and actually stuck to the tip, because they thought it may help the issue of 'kicks'.
People are always asking me if I have seen any more of the darker stuff...but I think what reserves were out there, have now been used up.
.......we'd better start getting used to the light stuff.

8 pages, and no-one has mentioned it !! I use dark green NTC and have done so for over 30yrs.
When I played snooker it enabled me to achieve phenomenal power screw shots in conjunction with a blue diamond tip.
Still use it today on several pool cues, all with BD tips, and the spin I can generate is awesome.---------------
