hi there is a new chalk called blue diamond chalk which is produced by LONGONI AT www.longonicues.com which is very expensive priced at $4.00 cdn per chalk.

The chalk that i prefere is the tweenten Triangle green chalk which does not mess the snooker table

I bought a small box of them when i started playing at around 14 years old. I'm still on the same box now 24 years later lol.

How many were in that box then?

Got them off ebay. £2.25 for a box of 12 and 1.65 for delivery. members name is notonlybowls. If you order before 2pm they get it to you next day. Really really good for ebay.

They do loads of other bits and pieces too. Good for me as there is nothing at all round near me for snooker or pool.

That's a link straight to the chalk, if anyone's interested. The picture's not very good: it looks like light blue, but when it arrives, you'll see that it's definitely light green. Bought mine ages ago (twelve pieces) and I'm still on the first piece!

Shipping might look a bit pricey, but order a few things at once and the savings are clear!

No the story is this. The original triangle chalk which was slightly darker than the more powedery lighter coloured chalk today had a substance in it that if swallowed was illegal and was dangerous. In this day and age with H&S they had to change the recipe and what we have now is an inferior product but its not because of choice.

Any idea where I can buy the darker green triangle chalk ?? I ordered 1 box of chalks online looking at the pics and they ended up being the lighter green talcum power chalks !!!
Appreciate anybody's help or can some one please suggest me a suitable dark green replacement if you know what I mean. Thanks in advance !!!

I have a 9foot Brunswick pool table with green simonis 860 cloth in my house, and I find that the blue colored chalk leaves less marks on the table than the green.

Basically I think it is the color of the cloth on the table that you should be matching so that the cloth does not look sprayed over with chalk and messy.
Other factor could be chalk hardness, stickyness for different types of play.

Guys, to clear up the debate on Green Triangle Chalk. The older dark stuff hasn't been available in the UK for approx. 7 or 8 years now. They changed the colour around the same time as Riley's from Burnley went bust and they had some left, but that soon dried up. (the manager at one of the clubs I supply had kittens when they changed the colour slightly and said he was going to write to Tweetens in the US to complain!)

Also, Tweetens Blue chalk is the same as Tweetens Master Chalk in blue - it's just in a different wrapper.

I remember the old dark green NTC chalk mentioned on this thread - it was like grit. Not nice to use at all. Think that's why it never caught on in the UK.

The best chalk is that extra special bit of chalk you always get, where you go to your mate... "does this smell like strawberrys??" then as he leans in and sniffs, WHACK!!
Chalk all over your mates nose, thats the best type of chalk!!
Works great with any colour, and most noses hold chalk quite well!!
Oldest trick in the book, but I bet you can get someone with it!
