I Have a question regarding cutting down a tip with a knife to reduce its size , I do this with the blue diamonds i use as they are slightly to high in my opinion uncut , I allways was told that you cut the top off say a couple of mm and leave the base as that is the shoe of the tip and it absorbes all the glue ,, etc . I have also been told that that it is not the way you when reducing a tip should cut the base off and stick the tip on that way as to retain the original shape of the tip . Who is correct ? and who can give me reasons, other than the ones ive stated why .
