  • laminated tips and their shape...

i gave up on one of those o'min water buffalo tips a while back because i was finding it dificult to hit anything other than centre ball without pretty frequent miscues. this got me to thinking though... might the shape of the tip be partly to blame (and not just my rubbish cueing)!? i had shaped it to a slightly flatter dome shape than i normally do, with the thinking at the time being "it should make it a bit easier to get used to".... so I'm wondering now if i should stick on the other one i have left and try more of a dome on it.

anyone else tried different tip shapes with reasonably firm laminate tips that could offer some suggestions?

    hi,
I have been using the Moori/med for abt 3 weeks. The feeling is just like what you felt, centre hit or lot of miscueing on sides.
It is actually the hardness of the cue tip as you are still pretty new to such hard hits.
    Maybe you can try this.
Have the tip bedded by using a mallet to softly hit the tip all round for couple of minutes(1-2 mins) and reshaping it will hopefully get you better results.
