  • Getting chalk stains off cue ball

I have recently cleaned up my set of pool balls. One problem im having is trying to get rid of chalk stains off the cue ball. No matter what I have tried they will not go away. I have tried hot soapy water and a bit of elbow grease. Yet to try the Aramith ball cleaner. Would that remove it?

I have heard that flash floor cleaner is good for cleaning balls as it doesn't leave an oil on the ball unlike washing up liquid.

                Hi there,

I bought a bottle of Aramith ball cleaner on ebay and it works quite well. Rub it well, leave it over night and the polish with a microfibre cloth.

Was that Aramith ball cleaner, or ball Restorer? Because the normal cleaner doesn't say to leave it overnight.

Edit: Don't know about Aramith Cleaner, but Aramith Restorer can be found here in the UK:

I run my super crystallite's through the dishwasher once in a while, they come out looking great. No chalk marks.

Good luck with that. My Aramith are going nowhere near a damned dishwasher!

I would be a bit worried the heat would deteriorate the response of the balls.

                            I AGREE!!!

Our clubs 'LAST' balls were taken home by someone who put them in a dishwasher. And they were destroyed.

Precisely. That's why I'll take the time to clean them one by one when it's cleaning time. It doesn't take that long, does it? And if you can maintain their quality for a long time, I think it's time well spent.
