I have a couple of mini butts, one very short one, just a few inches, and one which is longer than standard, about 8 inches. I use the club tackle when I need it, which isn't very often, so I don't see the need for adding anything telescopic. When I play US pool I just have another 8 inch mini butt which I had custom made when I had the others made. All were made by a guy in the states called Lonnie Wilbur, who makes mini butts and joint protectors in all sorts of exotic woods

Hence why he probably suggested the mini extension on its own!! Being a no nonsense northerner though I saw straight through that one and made sure I got my monies worth! LolComment
