So I know there has over the years been a lot of talk of makers using pre tapered ash shafts from Thailand etc. I am looking to splice a couple of cues for fun, want to save the effort of planing down from squares of ash (which seem just as hard to source anyway). I am not hugely worried on the quality of the shafts as I have no intention of trying to sell cues it is a for fun project.
Can anyone point me in the direction of some pre tapered ash shafts?
I have played around with splicing various woods over the years but never got round to trying to splice onto a cue shaft. I would like to do the ebony splices myself too.
I see woods cues sell some on their website a lot of these when put on are max 57inch already. I would like 58 or 59 to make a couple of one piece cues.
