If I remember correctly, Kevin Muncaster said the latest cue he made for John was 56 3/4" long. But it was a couple of years ago and I wouldn't put my house on it!

Yeah, but he's always used a shortish cue, as far as I know, but he's such a natural player I think he could play with anything!

There's a guy who plays in my club, a good player by the way, who uses a 57" cue and he's 6'5" tall! He always says that a shorter cue helps him to be more accurate with a more compact cue action, and it works for him! I'm 5'11" and use a 56 1/2" cue and it works for me too. But we play English 8ball pool, not snooker.

Again it crops up. your height is not the deciding factor, moreso how much cue you have flapping between cueball and bridgehand and also how long your arms are, and whether you play with said arm straight or bent
Its not how well you play its how good you look playing that counts!

            Marks cue is 58" long.

His original cue was slightly less than 57" last time he was using it, but he has changed that now.

I knew we could count on you for an accurate answer, Trev. Any idea why he's changed after using a shorter cue for so long?

No idea, I haven't spoken to Mark in a while, and if I had, I don't think we'd get onto it.

Seriously, i think cue is really up to individual? But a 'shorter' cue really does help your accuracy as you are forced to bridge nearer? i am 6'4 plus and i find 58.5 too long! Trevor does make cues and send overseas? could i enquire where did you get your ash wood from?

Not too sure I understand your question. Whose ash wood would you like to know about?

Yes, Trevor makes cues and sends overseas. You can contact him via this forum, he's Trevs1. I've just noticed you've only got 7 posts; once you have 10 then you can contact him on the forum or you can send him a message directly; I'll pm you his details, ok.

I agree, a cue is up to the individual.

I find the accuracy is more to do with my stance and cueing than bridging nearer but if you find that helps you, then go for it.

I think that only Trevor knows where he gets his ash from! He said recently that the shafts he's got at the moment are probably the best he's ever had, so it's a good time to get a cue from him!!

If Mike says he's going to think of something to make snakewood look beautiful, this is probably going to be awesome; I'd be very interested in seeing the result! I'm not a big fan of snakewood personally but if you get a nice bit it can be really beautiful, so good luck with that.

I try to help, if I can. Thanks for your thanks!

It's originally from the northern parts of the USA, but I don't know if that's what you mean.

If you're asking where do "I" get it from myself. The answer to that is from a UK timber merchant, who is good enough to allow me to sort through everything they have to select out the quality I need.

                                Hope that answers your question.
