Hi all,
i picked up this nice Hixon and sons cue on ebay. Machine-spliced Rosewood (?) butt and maple shaft.
I've seen other people's very helpful posts about Leeds-based Hixon on the forum here and assume that this was made just before the 1930s (when 'Ltd' was added to the name.
It was clearly a one-piece cue originally (you can see the grain continuing), and i guess all cues were one-piece before the 70s? and it's had a quirky clear plastic joint added to make it 2-piece (i assume in the 70s?). It's almost perfectly straight.
I was wondering whether it was worth having it refinished, or whether i should just leave it as is? Cheers, Jim
don't seem to be allowed to add pictures?
