At GB they have a full size table so that’s the ‘try before you buy’ option. Their return policy is that the cue has to be returned within 7 days to get a full refund as long as the cue is returned in the same condition as it was sold.

Ah okay i might hold onto it for now is it normal for about 4/5" hanging off the butt? I'm so used to short cues that i think the normal grip is abnormal

I would say that’s in the range of where people hold their cue. There is no normal as people hold their cues in all different places. It’s definitely better than holding it too close to the end of the cue.
Given your height and the length of your cue you should be able to play around a bit with where your holding it until it feels comfortable.
