burroughs and watts

hi everyone,
I was walking through my local town the other day, and when i passed the charity shop a nice leather snooker case caught my eye. I went in to check it out and inside was a burroughs and watts georgian special cue which appeared to be made of ash and ebony. So I bought the cue and the case for such a low price that i feel i should go back and give then some more money. Anyway, ended up giving to my dad as a christmas present, but i wanted to know if you could tell me anything about the cue or the company?

Burroughs and watts was the biggest name in cue craftsmanship till the 90's but unfortunately they closed down,these cues were the best cues you could buy.

True but the name was reserected by new owners and the georgian special is one of their current cues.

What a uselesss 'image' link they have next to each cue.
All of the links show the same image, which contains a load of cues, that are distinguished by barely legible product codes that do not appear on the webpage!!

I bought my Georgian cue back in 1988, cost me 80 quid.

At the time I was considering a Sheridan or cannon but the Georgian
seemed to be of better quality and it was cheaper!

Still using it today.
