  • Ye Olde Ash Cue - looking for info

Hi guys, looking for some advice please..

Many years ago I was given my Dad’s old cue after he passed away, I don’t play so it was put away and has been stored for around 40 years.
I recently rediscovered it and did a bit of research online, and it seems like it may be collectible.
It is a “Ye Olde Ash Cue” by Burroughes & Watts London
No idea when or where it was bought, my dad lived in Gateshead, probably will date from late 1940s to mid 1950s?
Length 58”, tip 10mm. 18oz weight. Seems to be straight and in generally good condition. Some small surface marks in the wood but no chips or damage. Has long cylindrical metal case, the end cap is missing from this.
I would be very grateful for any information as to possible value, and the best place to sell it.
    Thanks for your time.

    Cheers, Rich

I think mine is either a second edition that got retapered to look more like a snooker cue than a billiard or a 3rd edition. It use to belong to a founding member of the WPBSA. Although I never used it I think its a decent player. Do they go for a premium?

A picture of the pro Bernard Bennett in action. They say he was an average player but 143 highest break in competition at the time was no mean feat.
