  • Does this Tip need replacing?

    Hello,

    Newbie to the snooker scene.

I am enjoying getting plenty of practice in at the moment and have being playing with my late fathers cue.

Just wondered what people thought on the condition of the Tip? I think it looks ok but keen to see if others agree as I am somewhat of a noivce.

    Thanks,

    Cameron

Not sure how old the tip is ,but it could do with a re shape then see how goes from there .tip seems like it’s not really flush with all the ferule ,probably would be better to put a new tip on to check the ferule is nice and flat, straight and clean .
    Welcome to the forum .

Cameron. Welcome to TSF. I’d change it. If it’s old it’s probably all dried out and impregnated with chalk dust.

        Hi Chaps,

Thank you for the warm welcome and advice on the cue tip.

I should probably change it given your advice. I think the tip is a good eight years old. Although a great deal of those years it has sat in its case.

        Thanks,

        Cameron.

I can't make out from the pics if there is a gap between the ferrule and the tip, dark glue or just a shadow. Anyways, an 8 years old tip definitely calls for a change.
