  • Help with cue history please

Hi, I’m trying to get some ideas on the history of my cue. I’m not looking to get rid of it as I enjoy using it and not been playing that long so it’s good for me.

Bizarrely. I won it in a raffle in about 2000 when I was in the RAF. So that pretty much all I know about it.

It’s a Cue Craft, 16.7oz with a 9mm tip. See pics on link

    Cheers,
    Matt

Can’t help with history but it looks a nice enough cue. New tip and clean up of ferrule wouldn’t go amiss. Looks like it’s centre jointed.

Thank you. A tip is on the to do list. It’s 3/4 joint.

Cue Craft started roughly mid-late 80s.
This cue could be early 90s but not 100% sure.
A very generic cue they made back then, before they started naming their cue models

From the photo it looks like the butt wood (ebony) does not match the shaft splices which look like rosewood.
Can you show more photos please

Thanks Dean. That’s some good info.
The butt is a very dark, almost black, brown. There are 4 splices, 2 black and 2 a medium brown colour. I agree though, they do look mismatched, I’ve always thought that.
I’ve added some more pics to the folder on the original link. Cheers.

            thanks for that
I thought from the first photos that it could have been an alternating splicing, not common but seen; but could have been photo flare
