  • Tony Wilshaw cues

Hi there, just wondering if Tony Wilshaw made machine-spliced cues? I’ve seen an old two-piece one for sale, but he seems to do only hand-spliced? Is it just that machine splicing isn’t really popular with custom makers any more (think Paris produced machine-spliced cues in the past?)

Actually, just looking back on this forum over the years, someone does talk about a machine spliced Tony Wilshaw, so assume he did make them a while ago...

I have not seen any Tony Wilshaw machine-spliced cues, anyone got any images to share?

[fyi, Parris machine-spliced cues was the Master cue, one of his earliest models (80s to c2002)]

Assume it’s legit, he uses that vibrant green marbled splice, and that gold collar on the butt, and overall it looks v well-made?

To check, you could contact TW cues directly?

                Oof.

Hoping not to have upset the apple cart here. I've just bought this bloody thing. Saw a couple of other articles saying they were nice cues and went ahead.

Genuinely wasn't trying to tread on toes buddy and apologies if i've done so!!

                      UPDATE.

Arrived this morning. I'm not sure but you might have dodged a bullet Jim Magee . The cue is lovely, weight, length, everything, feels good to me.

It's not as it was described as in "little signs of wear".

FIrst thing I did was run a microfiber cloth up and down the length and immediately the dents and dinks were there. Cue is straight, but has been mistreated, not to a point where it's unuseable but definitely to a point where £180 seems a little too much to have paid.

I've emailed CC, will see what they say, i'm almost certain i'll be keeping it but a tad frustrated!

WaynieD Well at least it could have a light refurb to bearing it back to its best, but yes, they gave it like 4/5 for condition, which sounds a bit optimistic.

                          5 months later.

                          3 additional cues down.

                          Expensive hobby!

Still use the TW on the daily though. Lovely little thing
