  • 1st Edition Burroughes & Watts Ye Olde Ash Cue

    hi all

I've noticed someone ( i know who but no going to mention names ) did well on ebay recently.

The above cue was bought for around £200.00.. Which isn't bad to say they go for maybe 2k now? if you ever see them at all.

If you type ye olde ash cue and check completed listings, it was sold back in December.

gutted it didnt appear on my notifications, but suppose the buyers must of been quick.
    the lucky beggar!

I am still under strict instructions from the wife that I can NOT become a cue collector
I saw this one and could not believe that no one else bidded on it!
    Up the TSF! :snooker:

I've seen that one too, Tried to avoid being a cue collector unless its a player but £200 is a bargain. The repair job needed kind of deterred me but still I should have bidded.

Had a chance to buy it as it was an active sale at the time. When I had revisited the listing for the 3rd time it has sold. Was put off by the lifting of the splice work otherwise would’ve thrown lots of money on it like most. Although it was advertised as 200gbp the negotiated sale price was more I was told. How much more?? I don’t know..
The 1st edition YOA is one of the Holly grails for me and for some it is classed as the only holy grail. The cue is in all original condition but a pity about the lifting splice/s however it can be fixed and people would still shell out lots of money for it knowingly. The new owner is wrapped 100% and congrats to him

It would've been useful for holding tomato plants up Matty.

saw a ebony butted 1st edition with the standard badge in mint condition on eBay about 4/5 years ago. the seller didn’t reply to me and the cue had sold to some other buyer. I was gutted as it was immaculate and full length. You get over it and persist with the search. I guess we all do mate

Gutting.....guessing they had a lot of interest.
but still good manners to respond.
Yeah I will do....think if it sold for like 1 or 2k it wouldn't of bothered me, out of price range anyway. But if went for say 700 or less ....its a missed opportunity.
                    the search goes on....
