  • New stock cues

Noticing a marked reduction generally in decent Thai cues from our regular suppliers. Most noticeably Craftsman cues who are mainly selling new stock of Peradon and Britannia cues. Green Baize not got any new stock but guess they may get a big batch soon.

Guess it's all to do with the way of the current world, gas pipes, end of the world as we know it etc etc 🙄 zzzzzz

Nah, nothing so sinister CC, it's just ADR147 stockpiling so he can make a killing.

I think in the early years when they had great stockpile of quality ash and ebony, as well as trying to establish their place in the market, the Thai cues were excellent quality and really well priced.

However some have not only dropped in quality but prices have risen, some like ton praram quite considerably.
I've been looking on green baize and I must say the last few batches of TP cues are really poor for the money. If you are spending well in excess of a thousand pounds on a cue, I'd expect the balance point to be at 17", yet I can see some with 15" BP. That must be horrendous to play with and so light on the bridge hand.

So I concur with crafty, a reduction in quality and production. Like everything else in the world, a lot of profiteering going on with reduced quality.

I feel the production is still top notch to be honest, from what I have seen (having recently picked up a stick (Niche - looked at tons of Ton, some VR, Omin (Thai/China) - plenty of Thai cues here in China). I have noticed a greater number of Thai cues with factories in other countries (most notably China and Malaysia). Hoping to get to Thailand next week and have a look at a few places.
        Master of parenthesis strikes again...
