Best way to post a 3/4 cue?

As the title suggests, I need to post a 3/4 and I’m looking for the best way to do so without it getting damaged/without paying extortionate costs. Any advice would be appreciated!

Get some plastic pipe, such as white waste-pipe.

You can have two tubes one for the shaft one for the butt, taped together to save the posting-length.

Diameter - the pipe is called "43mm" and commonly called "1.5 inch" IIRC
Length - give yourself an inch or such at both ends of your parts.
I used discs of cardboard to plug the end and then lots of wrapping Brown tape and "Fraglie" tape and even duct-tape.

I have used one layer of bubble wrap but too much and you can not get the cue into the pipe
I also saved the sheath-stuff John Parris used one to send me a cue - this is thin and long, but enough to protect the cue from any knocks.

I've sent a couple recently via Parcelforce in a 150cm tube, it costs £8.70 tracked on the 48 delivery. Easy to get a quote and I've had mine picked up from my home address, they bring the label and apply it if you select that option which is really stress free.. standard is insured up to £150. highly recommended.

(Also I've been told if it's a few CM over the 150 it's never generally picked up and the drivers just use Thier eyes not a tape measure)

Yes this method is best, send the cue split in two separate plastic tubes held together with duct tape. You must pack out the tube so that the butt and shaft cannot move forwards and backwards then they can't slide about and damage the tape used to seal the ends (especially the male joint), and ensure that the ends are very secure as the cue will only get damaged if it escapes from the tubes. I sent one from the UK to hawaii recently and it arrived OK.
I use 40mm pipe for the butt and 30mm for the shaft and this allows room for one layer of bubble wrap with bubble wrap stuffed in both ends to stop the pieces from moving, two layers of duct tape at the ends both across the end and around the sides with two layers of duct tape holding the two pipes together plus parcel tape on top of the duct tape to make sure. Mini butt is placed in with the butt with the male joint facing away from the butt, bubble wrap between them, and not joined to the butt as it may come loose and damage the joint.

Check this out. It's longer and for any cue that's up to 59" long and 30.5 mm in butt diameter. But the quality is better.
