  • Burrough and watts cue

I have four Burrough and watts snooker cues, all have no ferrule fitted, one has a leather tip other one normal, other two haven't,they are between 57.5 and 58.5 inches long, was wondering how much they are worth and how old they may be, the weight of the cues are 14,14.5,15,15.5 Oz in weight , the makers are printed on the butt and not a plate

Hi there..by the weights it sounds like they are early ish billiard cues.Being stamped rather than having badges would probably be for club cues..are they machine or hand spliced?.What thickness are the butts.?.As far as ferrules go...billiard cues were never intended for power shots ..so didn't particularly need one...if they split, the owner would basically cut a bit off the end..which is why there are short cues...although some short cues were made for home use.Also..they didn't need to be heavier as it was stroke and touch play Burroughes and Watts catalogues from the 1950s show that only high end cues came with ferrules as standard...you would have to ask for a lesser cue to be ferruled.Hope this helps.
