  • British hand made cue

Hi I’m new here and looking to get back into snooker after 20 years (not that I was ever any good 🤣) I’ve seen a lot on here about Chinese cues and the imitation of British manufacture which I’m sure are more than adequate for my level but I just wondered if there are any British handmade cues available for £150 to £200 from lesser known people that I wouldn’t find on line? Gathered you guys would have all the info I need. Thanks

Jim Butters? I although it's a good few years since I bought one, they were in that range and are very good handmade cues.

I've no idea, a pal of mine got one made by him a good six years ago and I'm pretty sure that was 450.

This was what I was thinking about, but this was a couple or more years ago now and I'm not sure if he just re finished these as a range of cheaper cues. Might be worth contacting him for a price on a plain ebony butt cue, as that might just about be in the budget.

I’ve just sent Steve a message, still welcome to anymore suggestions as I’d like a few choices if possible. Thanks everyone

Honestly why do players think they can get the cue of their dreams for 200 pounds is beyond me. A man has got to buy wood and his time to make what money

Who said cue of their dreams for £200??? I asked for ideas on an entry level British made cue. If you’ve got nothing good or constructive to say then why comment?

I bought two Andy Gibbs cues from ADR a few months back. ADR sold them to me at cost price. Good man. Ask him if he has any left as the cue maker has retired. And they were made using British Ash not that that makes it any better but its very rare.
