is it worth it buying a new cue?

good thread joenut im like you new to the game and playing with a cheap riley. mine is a two piece and the brass bit sticks out just where ur chin goes which is quite off putting
im also thinkin of buying a decent cue as an investment to keep for a long time but have no idea bout specs or anythin like that

buy new cue. And buy one for 200-300 gbp. That one could last for lifetime with good care

Has the cue arrived yet? i really want one of those but in green, i looked on the website but they are only selling the white and black??

How did you go about choosing your spec, i want to find out but not waste some ones time in the shop when i already know what cue i want.

The only way really is to try a range of cues. The only problem with the shark series for me is it costs a lot to go out of the standard spec.

I think the weight is only going to be the major problem, used my friends and it was 20oz far too heavy, i want some thing you can feel but not too heavy.

hi the cue arrived last week and im very pleased with it luckily the standard spec was very similar to the one i had at the time so didnt need to change anything
yeah i might be wrong but i think hes stopping doing the sharks because when i contacted him about getting the blue one he said it was his last one and he wasnt doing anymore and when i ordered it i checked back on the shop and it wasnt listed anymore
The cue is brilliant to play with not that i have much to compare it to having previously owned a 25 quid argos job which was varnished and was so sticky but some of the other members who are more seasoned players have said its a very good cue also
