How to remove ferrule

So a pool club closed down and they allowed me to take a good bunch on their damaged cues. Most have these types of ferrules. Some are ok and still usable. Not sure if you can tell but these ferrules are overlapping or enclosed over the tenon. And idea how it can be removed? Heat?

These may not be pigeon ring ( no thread) so you may need to twist off with grips. A little heat should soften any epoxy glue used if it won't budge.
