  • Somchai Cues Thailand

Hi all. Has anyone had any experience of Somchai cues from Thailand? It looks like they only sell through social media but they have some really nice looking cues at reasonable prices.

Edit - the link doesn't seem to work. You need to search for S.C. Snooker Cues on Facebook

This seller on eBay has sold quite a lot although he hasn't got that many currently but he usually has quite a large stock in various specs. I too was curious to how they might play as they look decent quality and are relatively low in price.

My concern would be that they'd play like some of the broom handles that grand cues turned out....been there, done that.

I've decided to take the plunge and ordered one of their cues. I'll post an update when I've received it.

Out of interest where did you end up ordering from? Cheers.

I've had the cue about a week now and played around 15 frames with it.
The one I bought is one of their Ultimate range and it was Β£205 delivered to the UK. The splicing is superbly done and the arrow are nice and straight. The shaft has a lovely smooth feeling and the cue plays very well. It's very consistent. Overall, I think it was great value for money. Definitely a keeper.

Thanks for the update. A guy I play with sometimes has bought one too, I had a look at the other day and was very impressed with the splicing, quality of the wood etc. He seems happy with it too and is playing well with it. only paid Β£90!!

I've noticed recently how many Thai brands are flooding the market and find it annoying how little known names are asking Β£350 / Β£400 for a cue!! Cue makers used to have to build a solid reputation before they could charge that sort of Dosh, so its good to see a decent product like these Somchai cues at reasonable prices.

Wanted to ask if you had a 3/4 or one piece? Guessing one piece on purchasing an ultimate. Thanks.

I have a Kinver cues cue, it’s Kinver badged but made by somchai cues. It’s the best cue I’ve ever had, good solid hit. I haven’t owned any elite named cues just a few peradon cues & a master cue rocket.
The Kinver/ somchai cue is the best by far for me.
I’ve never tried any other somchai cue so I can only obviously comment on my own.
i wouldn’t sell it even if I got offered Β£500.
Nothing worse than buying another cue & even after a few months play with it u know u prefer your old cue (what I found out after buying a master cue) πŸ™ˆ

I agree, the quality is superb. I've previously owned a Peradon Joe Davis and Britannia Falcon cues and my Somchai is far better in my opinion.

I've had mine for a few weeks now and can't praise it high enough. The consistency of feel and reaction on the cue ball I get is excellent. It's fantastic value for money too.
