hi im thikin of buying a good quality cue that i can keep for a while im pretty new to snooker at the mo just plaing with a cheap riley.
I am seriously considering a mike wooldridge shark series but cant decide on 1 pc or 3/4 is this just personal preference and or are their any major differences apart from the 3/4 being easier to carry!

The shaft of a 1pc cue extends all the way down the cue from the tip to the butt with the butt spliced over the shaft, so if a cue is 57" long then so is the shaft, whereas the shaft of a 3/4 cue is much shorter as it extends from tip to the 3/4 joint, so if the cue is 57" long with the joint at 14" then the shaft is 43" long with a butt made of solid ebony.

A 3/4 cue is naturally heavier than a 1pc and with a shorter shaft, the 3/4 cue plays more like a 1pc machine-spliced cue.
