    Hi guys

been playing since december and realy hooked, but i feel i wanna get a new cue to kinda up my game and get a 'feel' of the cue ball if you know what i mean....

been reading on here about the differnet prices and types of cues you can get but im a little stumped at where to buy, and what

heres my spec - 57" length and a tip of about 9.7mm (its a bce machined fr3 or something only £20) two piece middle joint

i feel happy using that length but im not too sure on the weight of it, its kinda medium ish weight but i would prefer something a little heavier, without that bloody sticky varnish !!! (why oh why do they use it) and preferably ebony 3/4 in black only no fancy colouring. Simple and clean

id be looking to spend near the £100 mark but could push maybe a little further if the best deals about (case and stuff)

also whats the deal with some online stores (not ebay of course) that allow returns after use (if i aint happy lets say)

sorry for the bloody essay but this is a big jump for me lol

    thanks Hish

Personally i would be looking to spend nearer the 150 mark to get a good cue. Are you looking for extensions as well? 100 including case is really not that much. I think craftsman would be your best bet however the machine spliced cues are all out of stock at the moment. Havent had any experience personally but the legend (cheapest currently in stock) is 110 with mini butt.

alternatively for a bit more theres welshpooltrading (bitter on this forum). his cues are 125 + postage and can be found on ebay here
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=120360631354
And then theres second hand cues of which im sure someone else on this forum will be more qualified to talk about than me.

On the specs front, if you are looking for somehting on the heavy end of the scale i would suggest perhaps 18.5 - 19Oz. The varnish is only really found on the very cheap cues and any decent cue should have an oil or wax finish.
Sorry for the perhaps confusing essay in reply!

You're a quick study, Rob, aren't you! It's good advice!

hey zidane, i am selling a cue.

          The specs are:
          58 inches
          9.9mm tip
          18.5 Oz
          17" b/p

It is plain ebony butt and ash shaft, the cue is 3/4 joint with brass airlock joints, and base joint in the butt of the cue. The cue also comes with an aluminium case. I am looking for £130.00 for the cue and case.

O'min....you cant really much expect more than that for this price range.

                    Enjoy :snooker::snooker::snooker:

Looks quite nice from where im sitting, Never tried an o'min so cant comment on the quality. It'll certainly be a huuuuge step up from those 20 quid riley things though!

they're nice cues to use, but this isn't to my specs which is why i am selling. Besides i already have two other cues which leaves me no time to play with this one

Yip, O'Min cues are very good indeed. Personally, I'd also recommend Master machine-spliced cues and older Craftsman hand-spliced cues. Those are almost always good, solid cues. What else...? Older Peradons are sometimes good, but a bit of a lottery.

That's about all in his price range that I'd buy.

yeah i sounds good loopy defo interested but with some decent pics of course mate im in hounslow so not too far from you we could meet up. just little worried bout the length and i read that 17" is too forward heavy or something

thanks RGC for the response mate , some sound advice and i mean i appreciate the more bang for your buck defo applies in my situation right now, this guy on ebay, whats the deal with his cues are they like craftsman or his own brand, also got any links to his previous customers

oh and thanks for the quick replies bloody awesome

If this is the cue you're selling for £130, it's an absolute steal if it's in good nick! Jump on it before it disappears!
