        I believe from previous postings the cheaper "classic" range are made in the far east (possibly finished by them in the UK) whilst the "standard" range is all their own work ...

        That's not to say anything against them ... Craftsman have an excellent reputation so I don't think you'll go wrong with them ...

        A friend of mine recently bought their cheapest cue a "Victor red and blue" (machine spliced for about £60) and it is certainly a very decent cue ...

          If you want a good Craftsman cue, contact Dave Coutts on 01522 883083. He often carries their cues and handpicks them from their range for straightness of shaft and grain. You couldn't choose better yourself.

            I think the thing with craftsman, is the consistancy. You can get very good cues from the chinese manufacturers, i actually have one that i like a lot. But you can also get very bad cues, and you dont really know until it arrives. Of course all cue makers are capable of making a bad cue, but in my opinion its much less likely to slip through quality control with craftsman. Especially if you take Keith's suggestion and order from Dave Coutts.
