Rodney Hinde was making cues from at least mid-80s to early 90s (ish).
Also, IIRC, the was some link between Rodney Hinde and Shaun Murphy' old cue (Lindrum Morcues), something like when 15 his dad bought him the cue from Rodney. IIRC
How to add images to your TSF posts You can use a free image-sharing site such as ImgBB, without registering (you can register for free), to upload your images, you may have to do the “not a robot” checks quickly. There are other image sharing sites as well. ImgBB.com Click on "Start Uploading". Browse to the file and select it, click Open. Auto delete image - leave as "Don't autodelete". Click "Upload".
Change "Embed Codes" to "BBCode full linked".
Hover mouse over the code in the box, a "COPY" will appear, click this. Go to your TSF post and paste. You can repeat for multiple images in a single post.
I too have a Rodney cue, it was built for Peter Ebdon as an exact copy of his cue. Unfortunately for Peter, he couldn't play with it as the playing characteristics were nothing like his.
I was a personal friend of Rodney and spent many an hour with him in his workshop in Rushden and on the tables of Rushden Snooker Centre.
Rodney was still making cues into the 2000s. He worked on Shaun Murphy's cue when Shaun was a junior. Rushen had another cue maker, Mac Chambers, he also built a cue for Shaun but Shaun never used it/ took to it. Shaun would always go to Rodney for his re-tips etc.
Over the years I've had 3 cues made by Rodney.
the cue that was made for Peter, Rodney brought it into the club for me to try, I made a 100 break 1st frame with it, Peter was in the club and said "it's weird seeing someone play better with my cue than I did" obviously I didn't need any persuading to buy it.
