    yeah, sorry boys....been busy...
i ended up with rather a 'cheap cue' not a chinese one mind.........
it's a cue craft cue ash shaft, machine spliced, 16.5oz, 9.5mm tip, 3/4 and was a mesely £65...it also has a quick lock joint...a mere 20th of a turn i would say!!!!
it was the second one i picked up...the first was also a cue craft at the same weight and found the weight to be near perfect...so only looked for similar weights....in all there were only 3 cues....2 were £65 and one was £130....so either way i wasn't going to break the bank.....
the only reason i opted for the £65 over the £130 was in the end the price....simply because they felt the same..and thought why pay double for the same feel?!?

i did try some more exensive cues....but they just didn't 'feel' right......
as iv'e said before, you really need to hold a cue before you pledge your money!!
thanks for aall your help guys!!

    Gazza!!!

ps it hasn't helped my game any....but im enjoying it more!!

If you're happy, that's all that counts. Now away and practise!

Always buy the best equipment you can. A soft case is alright when it's raining, but if your new case falls ...? Buy a hard one, it's better for the cue.

why not try a real snooker shop attached to a snooker club, then you can try before you buy. liking the equipment you use is half the battle. cheepo cues are generally made from chemically cured timber and can't be trusted.
