  • Hesitation about a new cue!

    Hi,

First excuse my primary english, I'm french and passionate about snooker. I only practice it for 3-4 month now, because know I study in England but I use to seen it on TV.
So here is my question !! I just want to buy a new cue and I hesitate between the mastercue falcon 3/4 and the ADR147 one's (think it's the dictator one). I haven't got a big budget (around 100£) so can you give me some piece of advice and may be if you know other cues in this range of price, tell me !!

    Thanks,
    Bye

How much is your budget exactly? If you can afford it I would personally go with ADR (The Goliath one would be my personal preference but thats just on looks )

Same but i managed to get my cue for my 21st from my parents so i could spend a little more. I order a custom cue from http://www.welshpooltrading.co.uk/ £160 with 4 tulipwood splices and mini butt extension. I think thier standard range is around £130.
ADR is a very good bet for getting a cue playing cue if you can afford one he has to offer. Once you have made 10 posts you can PM him. I don't know anything about master cues so I can't comment on them.
On another note will you be needing a case as well and does that count as part of your budget? If your looking to buy a case as well second hand would be an option. Alternatively Theres Craftsman in Leeds. For 110 you can get the legend with mini butt or one of the cheaper machine spliced ones for a bit less which would allow you to get a case too.

Are you sure it's the mastercue falcon and not the cue craft falcon?? If it's a choice between mastercraft and cue craft then take the mastercraft!!

I recently got a custom Mastercraft cue but looking on the Mastercraft site it appears most similar (If not the same; Not sure as I didn't order it myself) to the "GOLIATH". I have little experience with other cues, however I can certainly confirm I am very happy with it.

Hopefully somebody with experience with both of the cues you're considering will be along soon...

Solely from reading on here (No personal experience) I'd imagine people will suggest the ADR cue everytime rather than the Cue Craft.

As I say, once more, this is purely from what I've read on here and no personal experience what-so-ever. Take it with a pinch of salt!

The cue craft cue is not a very good cue, it is just designed to look good, that's all. The Mastercraft is a hand-made, hand-spliced cue, so the quality will be better. I have seen examples of the cue craft and I've seen Mastercraft cues, and the Mastercraft ones are far better value-for-money.

He needs to practice English first, which is why the French only came in later on, once I'd seen he'd understood. There is method to my madness.

Oh, by the way, nice of you to join us, Rob. Did you have a good rest?
